Figma Keys
A fast, searchable reference for every Figma keyboard shortcut, built for designers who want the right key without breaking flow.
Visit siteWhat it is
Figma Keys is a free web tool that puts every Figma shortcut in one place, over 100 of them, organized so you can find the exact one in seconds. Switch between Mac and Windows, filter by task, search by name, and click any shortcut to copy it. Hover one and the on-screen keyboard lights up the keys, so you learn it, not just read it.
I designed it and built it in Next.js, front to back.
Why I built it
I kept forgetting shortcuts. And every cheatsheet I found was either confusing or made it hard to find the exact one quickly, static PDFs, cluttered lists, no way to filter by what I was actually doing.
Shortcuts are a designer's superpower in Figma. The gap between a slow designer and a fast one is often just muscle memory for keys. So I built the reference I wanted: quick to search, honest about Mac vs Windows, and structured around tasks instead of one long dump.
What it does
Mac and Windows, one toggle.
Most cheatsheets pick one and leave half their audience translating keys in their head. Figma Keys switches the whole set instantly.
Filter by task.
Shortcuts are grouped the way you think while working: Tools & Shapes, Navigation, Editing, Typography, Components, Layout, Opacity. You look for what you're doing, not alphabetically.
Search.
Type a tool or action and jump straight to it.
Click to copy.
Tap any shortcut and it's on your clipboard, ready to paste into notes, docs, or a team wiki.
Live keyboard preview.
Hover a shortcut and the on-screen keyboard highlights the exact keys. It turns reading into learning, so the shortcut sticks.
Over 100 shortcuts.
Covering the full range from basic tools to the ones most people never discover.
Why it matters
Figma Keys is a small thing built well. It's proof I notice friction in my own workflow and ship a fix instead of living with it. Same instinct a good product designer brings to a real product: find the annoying gap, remove it, make the fix feel effortless.
It's also live and public. Anyone can use it right now, which makes it the fastest proof in this portfolio of the thing I keep saying, that I take an idea all the way to a working product, design and code both.
